A Rare and Precious Wool

Exquisitely beautiful, this ivoire and beige pashmina shawl wraps you in unmatched softness, exceptional lightness, and comforting warmth. The wool comes from semi-nomadic goats living in the high Himalayan plateaus, where extreme climate conditions give rise to the extraordinary quality of this precious fiber. The pashmina becomes increasingly softer with wear, offering an even more pleasant feel over time.

An Exceptional Fiber

Pashmina is a superior cashmere wool, renowned for its incredible fineness and remarkable softness. It is sourced from the neck and under-chin areas of the goats, where the fibers are the finest and most valuable. This rare material combines lightness and durability, making it one of the finest wools in the world.

Ancestral Craftsmanship

Each shawl is handcrafted by a master artisan, thread by thread, on a traditional loom specific to the Kashmir region. It takes wool from several goats and several days of weaving to create just one pashmina. Every piece is unique and showcases the ancestral expertise of Kashmiri craftsmen.

Includes a hand-embroidered artisan signature, separate label, and protective cover.

Traditional Embroidery Steps

Several meticulous steps are followed to embroider a Pashmina:

  1. Choosing a block for the motif: A finely carved walnut wood block is used as a stamp to transfer the pattern onto the shawl. Each motif—whether for the borders or the center—requires a specific block. Choosing from among hundreds of models, each carved by master woodcarvers, is a time-consuming step in itself.
  2. Stamping the shawl: The expert artisan dips the chosen block into ink and carefully stamps the shawl at the precise desired location, laying the foundation of the design.
  3. Embroidering the shawl: Once stamped, the shawl is sent to embroiderers who use multicolored silk threads to enhance the pattern. This technique creates a refined and luminous finish, adding an extra touch of elegance to every piece.
